Riverdale, NY 10463 PH: (718)548-5757 | ![]() The primary goal in treating diabetic ulcers is to convert a stagnant, non-healing wound to one with the ability to heal. Management of diabetic wounds requires a team-oriented approach, and we partner with your diabetes management specialist and our multidisciplinary resources to optimize your success in treatment. Our affiliation with New York-Presbyterian Hospital will best allow us to evaluate your wound beyond its surface appearance. Based on systemic factors, structural bony alignment, blood flow, depth and duration of the wound, as well as the presence of an acute or chronic infection, we will create an individualized treatment plan. This may include local care, surgical reconstruction, and advanced biomedical technologies. All patients who have active wounds or history of wounds due to diabetes or poor circulation require specialized footwear. This may include extra depth shoes with molded inlays, bracing, or specialized offloading devices. We work closely with an Orthotist to create a prescription to fulfill each patient’s specific need. • Click here for more information about Integra Bilayer Matrix Wound Dressing from Integra LifeSciences • Click here for more information about Bioengineered Alternative Tissues • Click here for more information about VAC (Vacuum Assisted Closure) therapy |
